The EIS Financials system upgrade requires e-Pro processing changes during the week leading to the scheduled go-live. Purchasing and Payment Services must have all current requisitions processed through to purchase orders in EIS prior to the conversion. In order to allow for processing time, all departments must have needed requisitions created and approved through e-Pro on or before 5:00PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. The upgrade to the Oracle PeopleSoft Financials software from version 8.4 to 9.0 is almost upon us. The conversion process is scheduled to begin at noon on Friday, March 13th, and be completed Monday afternoon, March 16th. The EIS Financials system will be available once again to users at all campuses on the following Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

Every effort has been made to minimize the impact of the upgrade on the users of the Financials system. The unavailability of EIS Financials is not very problematic since the upgrade schedule is taking advantage of UNT’s holiday for Spring Break on Monday, March 16th. Since the campus is closed for the holiday, the only time that the system will be unavailable to UNT users during regular business hours will be in the afternoon of Friday, March 13th. Though the UNT Health Science Center (HSC) is open on March 16th, the EIS Financials environment will not be accessible to HSC users that day.

UNT will install an upgrade to its EIS Financials system in March. The new software, version 9.0, is scheduled to be in use March 17.

The upgrade provides enhanced workflow to the e-Pro system. To facilitate the upgrade and keep requisitions on track, Purchasing and Payment Services must have all current requisitions processed through to purchase orders in EIS before the transition to the new system begins. Here is a timeline:

The Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials upgrade from version 8.4 to 9.0 is underway. Testing environments are being prepared and users in the various administrative, functional areas for UNT, HSC, and the UNT System are being educated on the finer points of doing a massive upgrade to a significant aspect of EIS. The functional areas for UNT and UNT System include those related to the Controllers Office and Financial Reporting, the Budget Office, Purchasing and Payment Services, Assets, and Research Services (Grants). For HSC, the areas involved are the Accounting Office, Financial Systems, Purchasing, Property Control, the Budget Office, and Grants and Contract Management.
