PeopleSoft Financials 9.0 Upgrade
About the FS 9.0 Upgrade
The University of North Texas System is upgrading from PeopleSoft’s Financials 8.4 to version 9.0. This upgrade gives UNTS new and enhanced functionality and allows for continued support from Oracle/PeopleSoft of the Financials applications until 2012. The project is a collaborative effort between UNT and HSC administrative functional support areas and the Computing and Information Technology Center. The upgrade team consists of several CITC technical teams and functional area representatives. The functional areas for UNT and UNT System include those related to the Controllers Office and Financial Reporting, the Budget Office, Purchasing and Payment Services, Asset Services, and Research Services (Grants). For HSC, the areas involved are the Accounting Office, Financial Systems, Purchasing, Property Control, the Budget Office, and Grants and Contract Management.
About the Project
The Financials 9.0 upgrade is scheduled to go live on March 17, 2009.
The project plan and milestones are recorded in the UNTS Financials 9.0 Upgrade Charter. The upgrade team structure is defined with the EIS Program Governance Structure Pyramid as a Global Project Team. The Global Project Team is composed of the Operational Management Group (OMG), which includes the Project Manager, and the Modules Management Group (MMG). The MMG consists of key functional users for each of the Financials modules – e-Procurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Asset Management, General Ledger, Budgets, Grants and Projects, Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Security.
